You’ve got… real life paper mail?!

I never get mail. The physical kind. You know, paper. I vaguely remember paper. Anyway, I lied. I do get mail. Lots of pre-approved credit cards and special insurance offers and coupons and lots, and lots, and lots of bills. My point was that I never get enjoyable mail. I get the real world equivalent of spam and people reminding me I owe them for crap. So imagine my surprise the other day when I saw a clear envelope, addressed to me, which, when flipped over, revealed the front side of this card:

…following me on Twitter? *blinks rapidly* This is a piece of paper. Mailed to my house. Do I tweet so much that I’m now hallucinating direct mail Tweets? No no no, this is really a card, I’m not drunk, and whoever-you-are, card-sender, you have my attention. So I opened the card:

I hope you can read that, ’cause I really don’t feel like typing it. In short, it’s a quick note from @enthusem explaining why he sent me a card and, essentially, what enthusem is. Enthusem… is the card. It’s a way to send direct mail to your social media connections. You can also include a “code” with the card that they enter on enthusem that can open a PDF, website, whatever. They have lots of really cool card designs and they’re quick and pretty cheap to send. Check it out, http://enthusem.com

What a NEAT idea. I know I personally get tired of getting @’s and DM’s begging me to check crap out. And it’s only slightly better if the person takes the time to find my e-mail address off my website and send me an e-mail inquiry. But I usually don’t have the inbox space to deal with that, either. What I DO have is a void in my physical mailbox.

Anyone else get a card from Enthusem? What do you think of the idea?
