Cheryl Harrison is a communications strategist in Columbus, Ohio with a focus in social media technology. Hey, look, a case study. And another one! Neat.
Currently she serves at the Tactical Lead for Social Business Strategies. She has been actively using social media for more than 10 years (remember Geocities? LiveJournal?) and has worked professionally as a community manager and interactive strategist. Cheryl works to engage online audiences and empower others to share brands.
BeingCheryl.com (you know, the site you’re on) is where she shares social media news, tips and strategy - she also blogs for Greatest City of All and at TappedIn.tv
She is an information junkie and spends far too much time trying to keep up with her Google Reader subscriptions. She enjoys reading, writing and ‘rithmetic (not really the third one, but it seemed like a vital part of the “set.”) Cheryl’s other passions include theatre, craft beer, music and networking.
In the past Cheryl has worked for Wilks Broadcasting (QFM96, Wink 107.1 and 95.5 The Hawk) CD101, OhioHealth, Priceline.com, People To My Site and Sync Creative. She’s served as a social media consultant for individuals and international corporations alike.
Altogether this has given her a wide array of experience in social media, public relations, marketing, journalism and communications. (And a lot of headaches.) Cheryl has spoken about all this crap at Be The Boss, the Ohio Growth Summit, WordCamp Columbus, PodCamp Ohio and Capital University, sharing her passion for all things social media.
Cheryl is a graduate of Capital University with a B.A. in Public Relations and minors in Political Science and Journalism. While attending Capital, Cheryl was the Chapter Liaison for the Public Relations Student Society of America, a radio host on WXCU, a reporter/editor for The Chimes, the Communications Director for Ohio College Democrats, the Public Relations Manager for the Eden Summer Players and a member of Democracy Matters and the Fat Tuesday Debutantes. Overachiever, much?
Cheryl has no idea why she wrote this in the third person because anyone reading this will clearly know that I — er, I mean, “she” — is the author. Cheryl Harrison is, apparently, insane. Keep reading for further developments in this matter.
And hey, here’s a bunch of photos of her! In case you need one for an interview, guest post, speaking engagement or you’re just really, really bored.
