I read the article this morning, and it definitely smacked of “look what the nerds are doing this week! Let’s make ’em look stupid!” Or maybe “OMG! This Twitter thing scooped us on some major stories last year! Gotta find some way to discredit them, before things get out of hand.”

But maybe I’m just too sensitive when it comes to reporters taking cliched shortcuts. (I likewise hate it when a comics-related article is given a “Zap! Bang! Zowie!” sort of headline.)
