They call it caffeinated water. I call it the perfect cure for a hangover (hydration + energy) but whatever you want to call it, Avitae45, a bottled water with 45 mg of natural caffeine (think: a diet soda or half a cup of coffee) is tearing up on Twitter in four separate areas.
1. Hashtaggin’
“Join the conversation about ávitae by tweeting or retweeting using the #energy45 hashtag and check out all of the official sweepstakes rules here. Each day through August 6, we’ll randomly select a lucky @ávitae45 follower using the #energy45 hashtag correctly to receive 16 bottles of ávitae, just for showing us love on Twitter!
Each of our daily winners will then be placed into the running for a choice of two fabulous grand prizes at the end of our 45 days of hydrenergy sweepstakes:
-High Energy Ticket Package at PromoWest: Grand Prize includes one-year supply of ávit?e and two tickets for any six shows through December 31, 2009 at any PromoWest venue.
-Easton Town Center Shopping Spree: Grand prize includes one-year supply of ávitae and $1,000 Easton Town Center gift card.
- At the end of our 45-day sweepstakes, 10 lucky @ávitae45 followers who used the #energy45 hashtag correctly during the contest will win 12 cases of ávitae.”
2. Energy Interventionin’
Via Twitter, @avitae45 is doing daily “energy interventions” - message them with your office address and they might stop by with a boost for your whole team. And you know that was something I HAD to bring to MY office:
3. Conversatin’
They do it. A lot. Sometimes they’re silly. Sometimes they’re boostin’ peoples energy levels. Sometimes they’re helpful. But they’re certainly engaging with the community.
4. Contestin’
- 2 free tix to Chimaira or Hollywood Undead go to the 1st person that posts 3 ways they have hydrenergized with @avitae45 this month!
- I have 2 tix to the Jul21 Hollywood Undead concert @promowest, 1st person to post a pic of themselves in front of Easton Wallscape collects!
(’nuff said)

I will have to disagree on the contest portion. I was a “winner” of 4 4-packs. Per contest rules, I would have to drive to Dublin to pickup my prize. I don’t see why I could not receive a coupon in the mail that I could take to Kroger in Canal Winchester to redeem. In my opinion, this is a Twitter FAIL and I have stopped following @avitae45 and told their PR person to keep my prize.

Yeah, John, I understand why that would be a problem. Especially if the winner wasn’t from Columbus at all. Hell, I don’t plan to drive more than 10 miles to give away my 4-pack of avitae, lol. But then again, I’m a poor blogger, not a company.

Via @NetterB, who is having issues commenting so submitted her post through Twitter
Tried 2 say why I love Avitae. Also that I think @HoggysGrandview is doing it right too: special deals, interacting

Occasionally I electronically track brands through Techrigy’s SM2 engine for impact and affinity. I watched a running month of Avitae results and concluded that they were going places fast.
Oh, and Cheryl, I drove from Dayton to Columbus to get my Avitae on.
But then again, I am watching their stats.
In the “Would you believe” category? Avitae has a great following in Costa Rica. Funny how that is.

Great piece Cheryl. I am planning a series of Social Media workshops for a client of mine. I was planning on using Avitae as a Case Study on how to effectively use Twitter as well. You beat me to the punch. LOL. Anyway, I love the product too. That helps. We will likely be opening offices in the same building as Avitae in a few months. Can’t wait.
