You may remember that in October, l wrote a post about a man who was heading out on a 48 week venture, spending one full week volunteering in each of the contiguous United States. Dubbed, appropriately, 48 by 48.

Well, 31 weeks later, Drew Johnson ended up in Columbus, Ohio, and I got to talk with him about why he’s doing it, how it’s going and what’s coming next.
Check it out:

(I forgot to edit in the organization that Drew was supposed to be helping - Animal Outreach. Though due to inclement weather, the dogwash was cancelled. But Drew, with his never ending drive to make a difference, volunteered at the Franklin County Animal Shelter instead.)
Drew was such a fun and inspiring guy to spend time with. I wish him the best on the rest of his journey.
…though I doubt he’ll find a karaoke partner as awesome as me.
Our online networks create a tremendous opportunity for us to make a difference - and not just for our own personal glory and fortune, like many choose to do.
Who do you know using the power of social media for social good?
