Dumbledore Twitter Challenge (Yes I’m an HP nerd)

The Harry Potter Alliance just announced the #Dumbledore Twitter challenge, and while I would normally not put my Harry Potter obsession on my blog, it involves Twitter, so I figured I could get away with it :-D

Can you help us make #Dumbledore one of the top tweeted words on Twitter? Do you think there are enough Harry Potter fans to make #Dumbledore one of the most tweeted words on Twitter?

From now through Harry and Jo’s birthday July 31, every time you tweet anything, start with #Dumbledore – and when you do it, no matter what you’re tweeting about, try and remember that the value of love that Dumbledore taught is what we need in our lives and this world right now.

Harry will say in the upcoming Half-Blood Prince film that Dumbledore will live on as long as there are those that are conscious of this. As a fandom we have the power for Dumbledore’s belief in the power of love to live on in our world.

Fortunately, MOST people latching onto the meme AREN’T starting EVERY tweet with “#dumbledore” because, well that’s stupid and spammy. Most loyal Harry Potter fans are tweeting what lessons they have learned from Dumbledore, which I love.

My personal #dumbledore tribute (yes I know Dumbledore is a fictional character, you either get it or you don’t) will be to Tweet one awesome Dumbledore quote every day for what I like to call my “Daily Dose of Dumbledore.” I started with this one:

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. #dumbledore

*gasp* Spoiler Alert! Here are some of my favorite Albus Dumbledore quotes, my upcoming Daily Dose of #Dumbledore

– Humans have a knack for choosing precisely the things that are worst for them.
– It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.
– Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.
– You fail to recognize that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.
– Let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.
– It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to our enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to our friends.
– Sadly, accidental rudeness occurs alarmingly often. Best to say nothing at all, my dear man.
– Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike.
– The truth is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with caution.
– The consequences of our actions are so complicated, so diverse, that predicting the future is a very difficult business indeed.
– In dreams, we enter a world that’s entirely our own.
– Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
– Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.
– It is my belief that the truth is generally preferable to lies.
– Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.
– Time is making fools of us again.
– People find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right,
